Warranty and Return Policy
Warranty Policy
Valvcon™ offers a two-year warranty against defects in materials and workmanship.
Liability to Valvcon™ is limited strictly to the sale price of the actuator, and does not
extend to the installation costs, loss of productivity caused by downtime, or any other external
consideration. Valvcon™ will, at its discretion, repair or replace any product determined
by Valvcon™ to be covered by the warranty.
Returns
If a product needs to be returned to Valvcon™, an Express Service Code (ESC) number, the
proper return address and instructions for returning the product must be obtained from
Valvcon™ Express Services in order to authorize the return to the factory. A valid
purchase order number for $120.00 is required to receive an Express Service Code number
whether the product is or is not within the two year warranty period.
*Please Note for Products Outside the Warranty Period: a product returned to
Valvcon with an ESC number will be repaired, providing the cost of the repair is less than
50% of the cost of a new replacement product. Should the repair to the product exceed
50% of the cost of a new replacement product, Valvcon™ Express Services will notify
the sender, recommend a replacement and return the product un-repaired. A $120.00
evaluation fee will be charged to the Purchase Order for products returned un-repaired.
The evaluation fee will be waived if a PO for a replacement product is given verbally at the
time of notification; otherwise Valvcon™ will issue a credit at the time a new PO is
placed.
- Ensure the actuator requires repair. Make every attempt to correctly calibrate, wire and test the actuator before deciding to return it to Valvcon. Service manuals and instructions are available at www.valvcon.com. (Valvcon™ charges a $120 handling/calibration fee for all products that are returned to Valvcon™ without defects. Valvcon™ charges a $120 evaluation fee for all returned products that are damaged beyond repair; this fee can be waived if a replacement unit is ordered). For non-warranty repairs, Valvcon™ charges $125.00 per hour (one hour minimum) plus parts.
- Provide a clear, detailed description of the problem, along with all information required by Valvcon™ to process the repair, including model/part number, serial number and a new Purchase Order number.
- Remove all valves, dampers, brackets, couplings, etc. (Valvcon™ charges a $75.00 handling fee for any actuator that does not comply).
- Package the product securely in corrugated cardboard (no crates or pallets and no peanut packing) to protect against damage in shipping (Valvcon™ may refuse shipment on any package that is not properly packaged). Please no more than one actuator per carton. If you do not have suitable packing material, Valvcon can provide it upon request.
- Clearly label the packaging with the Express Service Code assigned by Valvcon. (Valvcon™ may refuse shipment on any package that is not clearly labeled).
- Pay all freight charges for shipments inbound to Valvcon™.
- Pay all freight charges on non-warranty outbound from Valvcon™.
Valvcon™ Will Make Every Effort To:
- Notify the ESC code registrant if the product does not arrive as scheduled.
- Notify the ESC code registrant if the product cannot be repaired on schedule.
- Determine if the problem is covered by warranty. Events that may void the warranty include installation errors, (mis-wiring, allowing water to access the internals, etc.) mis-applications (under-sized actuators, misalignment, operating the product it above the rated duty cycle or temperature, etc.) and mishandling (running into the product with a forklift, etc.)
- Repair the product within 48 hours of receipt, (pending parts availability) if repair costs, (parts and labor) are less than 50% of the cost of a new unit.
- Notify the ESC code registrant if the cost of repairs will exceed 50% of the cost of a replacement unit.
- Provide a short description of repair actions taken, including a list of parts replaced and/or re-calibrated.
