FAQ - LC Series

What is the Valvcon LC Series?

The LC Series is porvided as a very basic, low cost (LC) actuator alternative for valve automation applications.  For this reason, there is a very limited set of options available.  The LV Series has a composite cover, NEMA 4, 4X only.

What are the two differences between the Valvcon LCR and the LCU Series actuators?

The LCU has a unidirectional motor while the LCR is reversing.

The LCR has an override shaft while the LCU has none.

What options are available for each Valvcon LC Series actuator?

  • NEMA 4/4X only
  • 25% duty cycle on the AC models, 80% on the DC models
  • 2 extra limit switches
  • Heater and thermostat
  • Brake (standard on LCR, not available on LCU)
  • Timer Board
  • Center off (LCR only)
  • Position indicator (LCR only)

What voltages are available in Valvcon LC Series actuators?

Both LCU and LCR: 115VAC, 230VAC, 24VAC, 12VDC, and 24VDC

What output options does Valvcon provide on the LC Series Actuator?

The standard output is a 14mm square; there is an optional female output that is also 14mm, double square configuration.

Is the output mounting flange ISO5211 compatible on Valvcon LC Series actuators?

Yes, the LC female output option provides ISO F03, F05, and F07 bolt circles for mounting with M5, M6 and M8 hardware respectively.  The standard male output provides ISO F05, and F07 bolt circles for M6 and M8 hardware.
