FAQ - Cycle Time
How does Valvcon define cycle time? Cycle time is the amount of time it takes an actuator to drive 90 degrees. What cycle times are available for the various Valvcon models? From 5 seconds (the fastest) to 75 seconds (the slowest) depending on the model. Generally, the higher the torque, the slower the speed will be. Are there any exceptions to the published cycle times? Yes, for V Series, Valvcon can reduce the standard cycle time by 50% (faster) using a special motor (but the duty cycle decreases to 15% when this special motor is used). Valvcon can also extend the cycle time for situations such as water hammer, thermal shock or system balancing. For other exceptions, please contact us. |
