FAQ - Cycle Rate Regulators (Speed Control)
What does a Cycle Rate Regulator do? It slows the cycle time of the actuator down by pulsing the motor. The standard V series control board provides five speed reduction settings from 1:1, 1:2, 1:5, 1:10 and 1:20. The speed control option board (CRR) provides adjustments from 3 to 200 times the normal cycle time by adjusting the length of the "on " and "off" pulses. A set of jumpers on the CRR board controls whether the "open" cycle, the "close" cycle or both are effected. In what applications would you most likely need a Valvcon Cycle Rate Regulator? In applications where water hammer or temperature shock is a potential problem. The cycle rate regulator is also used to slow the open or close cycle to aid in balancing automated systems. |
