FAQ - Certification

Explain the difference betwen "designed to meet" and "certified"?

There are several approval agencies which test products and "certify" that they meet the appropriate specification. Test products can be labeled with the testing agency's markof "certification" indicating they are approved for application in specific environments.

Which certification agency does Valvcon most often choose?

CSA.  Valvcon has sales on 6 of the 7 continents and CSA is mosre widely accepted around the world than either of the two U.S. agencies.  Their testing procedures are basically the same as UL's procedures.

Which Valvcon models are approved by CSA?

Most V Series and LC Series are available with NEMA 4/4X certification.  Most  V Series models are also available with NEMA 4/4X/7&9 certification.  The ESR and the ADC cannot be certified for NEMA 7 and 9 due to the Fail-Safe power storage.  For more details see the Valvcon CSA certification list.
